JOB PURPOSE To champion the JFMS Marine Projects Sales activities in the offshore energy sectors, including Offshore Renewables with a specific focus upon the offshore tidal & offshore wind industry To take the lead in the Commercial activities and Tendering & Proposals activities to ensure that opportunities identified are secured and that the JFMS Marine Projects short and medium profit and growth targets are met. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES The JFMS Marine Projects BD Manager has the following primary accountabilities; To take the lead role in JFMS Marine Projects sales activities into around the UK and western European coast with specific focus upon the wave and tidal sector The JFMS Marine Projects BD Manager shall lead the Marine Projects sales effort for the following offerings: Wave & tidal Front End Engineering Services Wave & Tidal Installation and Removal Services Wave & Tidal O&M Services Offshore Marine & Vessel Construction Support Services Subsea & Seabed Survey Services MERMAID sales and service HF4 Development & Opportunity Identification Cable Lay and Cable Repair Support Services Terminal management services Sales activities to include but not be limited to: Customer visits Customer calls Customer presentations Attendance at trade shows, conferences and exhibitions Attendance at customer sites Customer negotiations Customer hospitality To play a lead role in driving and supporting the JFMS Marine Projects tendering & proposals activities by Identifying and securing RFI opportunities Identifying and securing Pre-qualification’s opportunities Identifying and securing ITT’s Calling bid no bid meetings to determine organisational buy in to proceed Entering and maintaining records in the CRM system Taking a lead role in delivering content into the proposals and tender documents Taking a lead role in pulling together pricing for the proposals and tender documents Providing general supporting the Tendering and Proposals Managers where needed The JFMS Marine Projects BD Manager also has the following responsibilities; To work closely with the JFMS Marine Projects Managing Director to deliver the organisations short to medium term business plan for growth To work closely with the JFMS Marine Projects Managing Director to provide input into the future Work To Win targets into their annual budgeting process To work closely with appropriate JFMS Marine Projects delivery teams to ensure that the appropriate levels of technical support are secured for tendering & proposals activities To work closely with the appropriate JFMS commercial teams to ensure that any opportunity pricing is carried out in line with good financial practice and that any “as won” prices are accurately reflected in delivery team budgets To work closely with the James Fisher Group marketing team to ensure the company’s brand guidelines are adhered to during sales activities To develop and manage relationships with New Customers To develop and manage relationships with Key Accounts To develop and manage relationships with Strategic Partners To recognise and report potential acquisition targets To recognise and report potential geographical gaps in the group’s market coverage To feed into the annual budgets and targets for the Sales activity and then help ensure that those budgets and targets are met To ensure the Sales activity is carried out, recorded and updated in the group CRM System and that the records in that system are accurate and up to date To identify and feed into the JFMS Marine Projects Managing Director the current and future market drivers and market intelligence to enable the development of the group’s product & service capability To identify and feed into the JFMS Marine Projects Managing Director any forecast market changes and market intelligence to enable the ongoing development of the business plan To identify the need for any new sales literature and ensure that any existing sales literature reflects the current company capabilities and market expectations and agree production of same with the JFMS Marine Projects Managing Director To identify the need for any sales attendance at events, trade shows, conferences and industry networking events and agree attendance with the JFMS Marine Projects Managing Director To support business development activities in such other market sectors as may be instructed by the JFMS Marine Projects Managing Director. PRIMARY TARGETS & KPI’s Sales Targets Customer Visit Targets New Customer Acquisition Targets Key Account Satisfaction Targets Bid to Win Ratio Targets DIRECT REPORTS/TEAM The JFMS Marine projects BD Manager will manage any of the following staff involved in the Sales, Estimating and Tendering & Proposals activities, and in so doing ensure that their direction, welfare, discipline, training, budget compliance, expenses, holidays, KPI’s & targets and their general behavior are all managed in accordance with the appropriate James Fisher Group policies and procedures; Business Development Researchers Business Development Analysts Key Account Managers Sales Managers Sales Executives QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Degree qualified in either a Business or an Engineering related subject supported by ongoing training and up to date career development 5 years plus relevant experience in a senior BD function in either Renewables, Oil & Gas or other energy related industries James Fisher and Sons plc and all subsidiary businesses are committed to creating a diverse workforce and are proud to be an equal opportunities employer.
