Are you passionate about food? Do you understand pastry and the science behind it? Have you experience of working as a Chef in large food manufacturing businesses? If so, we'd love to hear from you as our client is recruiting an NPD Chef to join their business based on the Devon / Cornwall border. You will be responsible for managing the development of pastry products, from concept to launch for one of the largest supermarkets where products are made from premium products so this really is a great opportunity for you to be innovative, create and inspire. Key Responsibilities for the NPD Chef Creating & shaping NPD concepts for retailer brands in a proactive manner as well as responding to customer briefs. Manage development of products from concept to handover in the factory. Accurate costing submissions to understand the true cost of products. Customer facing role, working collaboratively with the retailer on all NPD as well as EPD. Presenting concept ideas to the business to the SMT. Working with Technical Team to source raw materials. Key Attributes for the role of NPD Chef: You must have experience of working as an NPD Chef in a chilled food manufacturing environment, preferably pastry but this isn't essential. A proven track record of developing and launching premium products in to the major supermarkets. You will have worked in a customer facing role dealing with the major retailers, understanding their expectations and managing these in line with factory capabilities as well as business needs. Experience of financial control as you will be managing a budget as well as every day costings of products. But most of all, you have to love food, be passionate about it and want to inspire everyone around you.
