A new opportunity has arisen for a Finance & HR Manager to work for a successful organisation in Plymouth, Devon. The post is to work closely with the Directors and influence the strategic decision making. This is a busy and challenging role with a strong focus on finance and business planning, human resources and building overall management and leadership capacity for the company. The role is varied and will cover finance and operations, financial analysis and planning. Day to day duties will include bookkeeping and management accounting relating to daily sales revenue, purchases, expenses, accounts receivable and the recording of payments. You will be responsible for the control and accountability of tax reports and declarations, oversee supplier relations, service agreements, and supplier contracts. The role will also include managing prepayments and journal entry transactions including accrued & deferred revenue, Bank, Credit Card, Petty Cash reconciliations and the control & reporting on promotional event costs & budgets. Your duties will include the maintenance & compliance of company reports/charts: Monthly P&L, forecast comparisons, managing cash flow, month end comments & analysis, bank reconciliation, fixed asset register, key financial ratios & VAT returns. Coordination with company accountants on annual returns and other financial compliance issues. HR Management responsibilities will cover advising staff on employment, pensions, commissions and salary issues. Improving and managing control procedures on expense approvals and claims. Overseeing monthly payroll functions including PAYE and pension schemes. Manage holiday, leave requests, planning and all absence related procedures. This is an office based role with approximately 16 days per year spent travelling to other offices for staff meetings, recruitment and other company activities. Hours are full time or could be slightly part time office hours Monday to Friday and the salary is Circa £24,000 depending on skills and experience.
