The appointed Shipping Solicitor will deal with matters including; Marine Regulation; Harbour Revision, Empowerment and Closure Orders; Marine Licensing and Planning including Marine Management Organisation and Environment Agency consents; Collisions and Salvage; Charterparty disputes; Ship Building Contracts and regulation; Marine Security Documentation; Repossession of Ships; Charter and Sponsorship Agreements and disputes; Marine Energy; Fishing industry claims and Fishing law; and/ or Yachting and Marine Leisure Matters. Previous experience in shipping and /or superyachts is not essential, but a genuine interest in developing a career in shipping and superyacht law is essential. Applications are sought from Shipping Solicitors with a minimum of 3 years PQE in this area of law. The successful Shipping Solicitor will be required to assist with a caseload that encompasses international cross border disputes as well as the sale, purchase and financing of vessels. The Shipping Solicitor appointed to this thriving team will have exceptional inter-personal and communication skills and work well under pressure and to tight deadlines. You will be organised and will have an excellent academic record and good numeracy skills. You will also be able to think creatively to tailor cost effective solutions for clients. The position of Shipping Solicitor would suit someone who is accurate, proactive and committed to meeting deadlines while remaining calm under pressure.
