Product Development Chef I am currently recruiting for a Product Development Chef for a well established company in the south west. They produce for the major retailers and have an outstanding product range. As a Product Development Chef you will be responsible for adding to their product range and making improvements to their existing recipe range. You must have experience in a development kitchen. They also belong to a national group that incorporates several different businesses which also gives them some of the nations top brands to worth with, so you have a lot of scope for career development The Role: Brand development Driving future business through innovation Presenting to the SMT and customers As Product Development Chef your main responsibility will be to focus on brand development through leading concept meetings and getting all involved with new products / existing product development. You will be integral to getting those creative juices flowing Mixing your time in the kitchen to customer meetings. As a result you will need to be innovative and able to articulate this back to the senior management team and customers. The Product Development Chef will be responsible for updating recipe files and logging all new concepts that come through the development kitchen. This includes costings, market research, raw materials and ingredients orders etc. You will be liaising with the technical team to ensure everything coming into the site and used on your new products is compliant. There will also be a heavy handover to the development teams to scale up to factory production. The Candidate: Experienced in product development Advanced Food Hygiene certified A leader in innovation Developing new ideas for the business will be key but you also need to be able to present these ideas. You will be a driving force for pitching ideas and bringing new products to market. We're looking for a natural leader with gravitas but also someone who can respectfully deal with their clients to accommodate any concerns that may arise with new product ranges. You will need to be able to demonstrate a good recipe portfolio for the category. Ideally you will show how you have developed new recipes that are out on the market now, how you got these products through sensory testing and any scrutiny from stakeholders, internal and external. Creativity will be a key aspect for you personality wise Someone who is bursting with ideas but at the same time can see these through. Understanding of factory development and factory processes will be a big advantage. You may be operating several projects simultaneously so time management and organisation will be needed. Tenacity and energy whilst maintaining and high standard of quality should be integral.
