Five Rivers Child Care is a leading independent Social Enterprise, providing care and education services for children and young people throughout England and Ireland.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Manager, based in Truro.
This role will be instrumental in developing and delivering Five Rivers Fostering Service Business Plan and will help shape, influence and implement the future growth and development of our Fostering Services throughout the West Country.
The current Service Manager has undertaken a transformation programme in the last three years and is leaving the service with a high performing team who enjoy excellent working relationships with Foster Carers and Local Authorities.
There are, however, still exciting challenges for the new manager as Five Rivers continues to develop and improve its services.
The person appointed will be the Ofsted Registered Manager and will be accountable for the service meeting all regulatory requirements, and leading in our ambition to move from a GOOD to an OUTSTANDING Fostering Service.
You will have demonstrable experience in working successfully in a commercial environment, supported by a strong commitment to improving outcomes for looked after children and young people and providing secure high quality foster care provision.
Experience in performance and financial management is essential and you will have a strong understanding of the Fostering Service from a Regulatory, commercial, operational and practise based point of view.
In order to be considered for the post you will need to have a minimum of 3 years' experience of working in a management position within a Fostering Service, preferably in the Independent or Voluntary Sector.
You will need to be an HCPC registered Social Worker and either hold a management qualification or be prepared to undertake training to achieve this within the first year of appointment.
You will be required to travel extensively throughout the Region and occasionally beyond, as Five Rivers is a national organisation.
